The HITECH Act of 2009
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 was signed into law on February 17th, 2009. This act has major implications
for health care professioinals, primarily in the area of implementation of an Electronic Health Records System. Provisions
in the Act authorize reimbursements to health care providers who can demonstrate effective use of an EHR system beginning
in 2011.
